Do the sex. Welcome to masturbation Monday with me, annette Benedetti, your host for locker room talk and chats. This is your invitation to join me for coffee and bed and a candid conversation about the masturbation practice I'm developing to support my mental, physical and emotional health and help manifest my dreams. Masturbation Monday is a guide to self-pleasure, better sex and using the power of the pussy to open new doors to a better life. Ring loop.
Speaker 2:Today's masturbation Monday topic is 20 reasons a woman should masturbate 20 reasons. These are science backed, research backed reasons. I constantly get asked why I feel I must talk about sex and masturbation so much. Why is it important? I feel like I answer that question regularly and clearly. It's not just smut folks. It's a little smutty and fun on occasion, but there's some real reasons why it's important for topics, especially surrounding women's sexuality to be openly talked about, and so I thought today, instead of having a heady conversation, what I would do is I would just give you the information why masturbation is key to a woman's health, happiness and optimal life experience. This is not just a opinion based conversation. This is fact based folks. So grab your coffee, let's talk about masturbation Cheers. Let's just dive right in.
Speaker 2:The number one reason, in my opinion, why masturbation is essential to a woman's wellbeing is that it is good for vaginal health. It's key to optimal vaginal health in all women, but very specifically menopausal women, middle aged women. If you want to have a healthy vagina when you are middle age, you need to masturbate all throughout your life and into middle age, through middle age and beyond. And I'm gonna tell you why Regular vaginal masturbation. So I'm not just talking about clitoral, external. This needs to include internal.
Speaker 2:Masturbation Increases blood flow to your vagina, which not only leads to less vaginal dryness, so it helps keep you wet. It also keeps your vaginal tissues healthy, so it can help prevent vaginal changes that happen leading up to menopause and afters, such as the vagina becoming shorter, narrower, vaginal tissues deteriorating, atrophy. Vaginal atrophy is a thing I only learned about in the last year or two and it scares the hell out of me. And the way that you're going to avoid this is either having penetrative sex with a partner or taking care of yourself regularly, which I highly recommend. Having that regular vaginal stimulation is going to help your vagina's length and width maintain is gonna help keep vaginal tissues thick and moist. Number two it lowers stress, it's an anxiety fighter, it elevates the mood and can fight depression, and also it helps with insomnia and improves your sleep. Now this is true for masturbation without orgasm and with orgasm.
Speaker 2:So if you're just masturbating, you're stimulating the vagal nerve which increases your parasympathetic, breast and digest activity and triggers the secretion of oxytocin. Oxytocin has anti-stress effects and it elevates feelings of wellbeing. Now if you get the orgasm in there, you also get to enjoy the feel-good hormones and chemicals, including dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, prolactin and endocannaboids. This cascade of stress-busting hormones and chemicals can really help improve your sleep, especially if you have insomnia, and it also feeds into lifting the mood, fighting depression and anxiety. Number three masturbation is one of the few times where the stress of orgasm is really taken off a pleasure session. Oftentimes, when we have a partner, there's a lot of stress to get to the orgasm. You know it's a race to the goal, the gold medal. During masturbation it's just all about you and experiencing pleasure which you have all around the orgasm. The orgasm is just one element of pleasure. So it's a great way to have stress-free sex. That is you focused. Number four pain relief. All of those chemicals I was talking about earlier. Orgasm releases endorphins and all of those other great chemicals which help alleviate pain, including menstrual cramps and pain like headaches and stuff like that. So it's a general pain reliever. Number five it improves partnered sex. How could it not? You're getting to know your body, you're getting to know what brings you pleasure and you can share that with your partner and teach them what to do to get you off. Number six increases libido. Now, this is definitely science-backed. Doctors will tell you. One of the first things sex expert is going to tell you is if you're struggling with libido, it's time to start masturbating. It will definitely help boost your sexual desire and arousal. I experienced this in myself. Highly recommend it.
Speaker 2:Number seven exploration of fantasies. Masturbation gives you a safe space to explore your fantasies. And remember, fantasies don't necessarily ever come together in the real world. Right, fantasies are fantasies. They're just that they happen in this realm, in your mind. But that brings me to number eight. Masturbation helps you discern what you want to keep in the fantasy world and what you want to turn into a desire. A desire could be made real in the real world and that journey can take place through your masturbation session before you decide to actually bring the desire into the world and create a real experience.
Speaker 2:Number nine, and this is definitely up in research again and again when women masturbate regularly, they experience improved self-esteem and body confidence, understanding your own sexual responses and desires and figuring out how to manifest them and take care of them boosts confidence and self-esteem. How could it not? And I think part of what leads to this self-esteem increases. Number 10, you get a better understanding of your own body anatomy. You'd be shocked at how many women have never even seen their own pussy, have never looked at it. Some have never touched it or if they have, just kind of barely. But if you have a regular masturbation practice you are going to be getting to know your body better and hopefully forming like a lot of love for it as you bring it pleasure.
Speaker 2:Number 11, I thought was interesting. Something I didn't know is that studies have shown that masturbation actually can help balance hormones and reduce symptoms associated with menstruation and menopause. At number 12, this doesn't surprise me at all. Forget the cacals. Just masturbate a lot. Masturbation and orgasms those contractions that your vagina's experiencing during masturbation and orgasm help strengthen pelvic floor muscles. So this can help improve your bladder control and a sexual function. Number 13, regular masturbation improves and fortifies the immune system. Research actually shows that it makes your immune system stronger. Number 14, heart health Women who masturbate regularly are reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attack, which makes sense. It increases that blood flow to your clip but also the rest of your body, so it would make sense that it would do the same for your heart.
Speaker 2:Number 15, they say that masturbation enhances your creativity. I know I'm creative as fuck. I know that my mind runs wild when I masturbate. I am like assuming. It means like creative embed, but I bet that that extends to maybe your other creative and artistic endeavors.
Speaker 2:Number 17, look, if you are single and you're horny and you wanna have a risk-free sex, your rate of STI is gonna be pretty low with masturbation. It's a safe sexual activity and if you are someone who's impulsive, like me, it doesn't hurt to. Before you go and like match with that fuck boy on Tinder, masturbate Please yourself. Relieve some of your sexual frustration and then come back and reread his profile or the text he sent to you and decide If you really do, you really wanna risk it. Number 18, women who masturbate regularly have a better relationship with sexuality, and I guess this only makes sense. If you are constantly only experiencing sexual pleasure while fumbling around with your partner and trying to figure out what feels good to you, you're gonna have an interesting relationship with sexuality. But when you are able to experience deep pleasure on your own again and again and then bring that into a relationship, yeah, that's gonna make sex, sexiness, sexuality, seem a whole lot more interesting and positive. Number 19, it improves focus. I know I've experienced this. I've been trying to maybe write something or focus on a project and I just can't get my shit together. I go and masturbate and then I come back to the table and I can, like I can, drill in and get it done. So, yes, research finds that is a great way to kind of clear the mind, improve focus, by providing a temporary break from stress and distractions.
Speaker 2:Number 20, sexual empowerment. Women who masturbate tend to feel more empowered when it comes to the sexual world. Their sexual experience, their sexuality, Masturbation empowers women to take control of their own pleasure and sexual satisfaction, and I'm just gonna close with that, because I'm all about sexual empowerment. So masturbate regularly for a more sexually empowered life. You know, if you are a man listening to this and you are not a woman or someone with a vulva, you might want to encourage your partner to masturbate for all of these 20 reasons, some of which will improve your relationship with them. I mean you might also offer to get in there and help them masturbate. That would be nice, Linda, helping hand, but in general, my suggestion is that every woman should create their own masturbation practice and be having sex with themselves regularly, whether or not they have a partner or not. And I just gave you 20 reasons why. So take that into this week. Do with it what you will.
